AIDS Walk San Francisco

Dan, Stuart and company just finished the AIDS/LifeCycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.  They rode almost 550 miles.  Congratulations, boys!!

Now its time to turn to the AIDS Walk San Francisco, which will take place July 17, 2011.  Please watch Jimmy's video and donate if you can...even $5 will help.  Then share his video with your friends.  Everyone has been touched by HIV or AIDS in some way.  Let's help end this disease!

Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce to Host Charitable Reception at Old Town Art Night

    Pittsburgh, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) June 14, 2011

The Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce is hosting a jewelry mixer benefiting Soroptimist International of Pittsburg, an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls. They will be showcasing over 200 new styles in the stunning Lia Sophia spring collection on Wednesday, June 15th, 2011, from 6 pm to 8 pm. The mixer will be parts of a special evening that will include a charitable art gallery reception, a free outdoor concert, and live music around Old Town. The Chamber invites the community to stop by 985 Railroad Avenue to see the beautiful pieces, mingle with the community, and support a great cause.

“Please join us for fun, hors d’oeuvres, drinks, music, great company, & beautiful jewelry!” says Meredith Ladich, CEO of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce. “Bring friends and arrive on time for extra chances to win prizes!”

Music will fill Railroad Avenue that night. The Pittsburg Art & Community Foundation’s summer Pittsburg Pops concert series presents the Michael Jackson tribute band Foreverland at 6 pm. All Pittsburg Pops events are free for the community to enjoy. E.J. Phair hosts free music by Blues To Go during their Pint Night, featuring the beers of Moylan’s brewery, starting at 6 pm. And the Steeltown Irish Music Ceoltas will be playing traditional Irish music the Railroad Book Depot from 7 to 9 pm.

Also on Wednesday, June 15th, Steeltown Coffee & Tea will host an opening night reception of new pictures in the coffeehouse’s gallery. The new art, a collection of charcoal on canvas drawings by well-known East Bay artist Dan Jones, will debut that evening and the reception will introduce his collection of celebrity portraits as a fundraiser for AIDS Walk San Francisco. Dan Jones is donating all proceeds from the sale of his amazingly detailed art to this important charity. The reception will be hosted by Steeltown Coffee & Tea, located at 695 Railroad Avenue, with complimentary brewed coffee and cookies during the event.

“Don’t forget to stop by the other shops and restaurants in Old Town while you’re enjoying the evening,” says Ladich. “Visit Old Town, quickly becoming East County’s center of arts, entertainment and fun!”
